The activity “Employment in Albania and the Challenges of Discrimination” in the “Musine Kokalari” Library

The Center for Rights at Work (CLR) and the Institute of Roma Culture in Albania (IRCA) held today the Civic Education Session on the topic: “Employment in Albania and the Challenges of Discrimination” in the premises of the “Musine Kokalari” Library, Tirana.
Employment is an important challenge for the Roma community, which continues to face discrimination in access to work, education and training. One of the main challenges is open and hidden discrimination in the labor market, where Roma job seekers often face open refusals to hire them, even though they are qualified for the positions offered. Another challenge is the lack of equal access to education and training, which makes it more difficult for young Roma to have skills and qualifications for positions in demand in the labor market.
Through role-play we had the opportunity to discuss these issues together and find new ways to face this discrimination by creating more spaces for employment.
