Within the framework of the project “Improving Roma Access to Quality Services in Health and Education,” which is being implemented in the municipalities of Vlorë, Fier, Lushnje, and Divjakë by the Institute of Romani Culture in Albania (IRCA) and the organization “Romano Kham,” the monitoring report on the quality of public services for the Roma community has been published. The project is part of small grants under the project “Supporting Participation, Accountability, and Civil Society Empowerment” (SPACE), implemented by the association “Together for Life,” in cooperation with BIRN Albania, Qëndresa Qytetare, and Destiny Center for Excellence, and financially supported by the European Commission.
This project aims to improve the Roma community’s access to public services in Albania, with a special focus on the sectors of education and health. The monitoring report provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and needs faced by the Roma community in accessing public services, focusing on the health, education, and technology sectors.
The report is based on data collected through surveys of 102 respondents and focus groups organized in the municipalities of Vlorë, Fier, Lushnje, and Divjakë. Through this approach, the main challenges faced by the Roma community in accessing public services have been identified and analyzed, and recommendations have been provided to improve the quality of these services.
