The purpose of this initiative was to strengthen the electoral knowledge of Roma women and youth. During this initiative implemented in the period November 2016 – June 2017, the following results were achieved:
22 awareness sessions were organized with Roma women and youth to participate in the elections in the areas of Gjirokastra, Lezha, Durres, Delvina, Berat, Fier, Korca, Tirana, Elbasan, Shkodra and Pogradec. The sessions were divided into two phases:
13 Electoral Education training activities
9 awareness activities through Roma Election Officers
About 760 Roma participated in the awareness sessions: 432 women and girls, and 328 men and boys.
This initiative encouraged the participation in the elections of about 826 Roma voters in the regions of Gjirokastra, Lezha, Durres, Delvina, Berat, Fier from 1,336 whose names were on the voter lists.
